Visit the Elephant camp of Damnoen Saduak and enjoy a great experience in riding the elephant, following a path through the jungle and the canal. Each elephant is controlled by a mahout master.
This is the closest Elephant Village in bangkok and if you booked a damnoen saduak floating market half day tour or full day tour with rose garden and elephant show and crocodile farm, this Elephant Village is included in the itinerary as it is just a 10 minute drive from the floating market. but you have to pay for the elephant ride as it is not included in the price. The Highlight of the elephant village is that you can ride these huge elephants for 30 minutes across a jungle terrain and some small rivers and an elephant can accomodate up to two people plus the mahout (elephant trainer). the ride is bumpy and the elephant sometimes stops to poo! (nasty as smelly too hehehe). The Pirce of the 30 minute elephant ride is 600 baht per person (more expensive in phuket as they charge you 900 baht there!). They also have a monkey village here where you can watch a monkey show for 20 minutes at 250 baht per person.
